so i got it finished! i finally got to ride it for real tonight, with no ghetto rigging! i'll try to get a video up here in the next couple days when i have daylight! the clutch seems to slip a bit off the line, but i'm hoping it's just because it's new?

is that a bad thing? it takes off pretty fast, but still i can tell that until it is moving, the rpm's are quite high for the speed it's going. it has been sitting outside in the snow for a few days, so the clutch was pretty wet, too. it might get better on a dryer day? i can only hope, but i'm happy with it, and i want a break from working on it for a bit, so i'll just be glad that it runs and it's fast for now.

wet clutch can slip, but should dry very fast

if its slipping a bunch the clutch will burn up
after about 2-3 seconds it should be locked up on a flat surface

yeah, it's does that, even quicker than that actually, but i'm thinking of when i take off up a hill or something like that. if 2-3 seconds is acceptable, then i'm not worried about it. thanks friend....

so i hooked up the throttle cable, but it won't open the carby all the way! i get about 3/4 of full throttle, and that's it. when i had it working before, it kinda bogged down right at 3/4 throttle. it's still doing that, but at what is full throttle now. i'm gonna make a bracket to move the cable over so i can have full throttle, but do you guys think a carb rebuild will help the bogging problem? it kinda puts around 3700 rpm, i think? it's right about where the governor kicked in on the old motor, maybe just a touch faster.
it will accelerate past that, but puts right there.
