What size is the axle where the current hub sits? That 8 hole setup seems strange. Maybe you have to ability to enlarge the center a precisely drill the sprocket. If not you're looking at a machine shop. As suggested by WTR, if th axle diameter is a common size it might be easier and cheaper to get a new hub and matching sprocket.

I cheated and got that info from a brochure in my own thread… post #2

Are you going to attempt to rebuild it to its former specs? Those 22” rear tires are compelling. Are the axle hubs still on the kart? Those are near unobtanium IIRC.

It is an SD-9 only if you know for certain it originally had a 9 horsepower engine.

SD-8E • 8 horsepower (electric start) E for electric start?
SD-11 • 11 horsepower Briggs Vanguard (also electric start)

These all had the same frame, same tires but different engines and were also known as Sand Dogs (SD).
For 1992 the SD-8 was only available in black and that may have held true for its entire production run. The SD-9 and SD-11 had a red frame.

Specs for SD-8:
Briggs and Stratton engine 8 HP
Key electric start with headlight
Torque converter drive
Overall length -- 75 1/4"
Overall width -- 48 1/2"
Ground clearance -- 6 3/8"
Differential rear axle
Front tires -- 15/6.00-6"
Rear tires -- 22/11.00-8"
Shipping wt. -- 342 Lbs

No specs for the wheelbase but the overall length is listed.
Awesome deal indeed.

For those who enjoy exploring detailed builds and mechanical specs like this, you might also find the creative designs by Iron Dog Studio interesting at https://7bitcasino.com/irondogstudio a place where innovation and precision come together in unexpected ways.
Just chiming in as a newcomer-this is incredibly helpful info, thank you. I also initially thought “SD-9” was obvious from photos/videos, but your point about it only being an SD-9 if the original engine was truly 9 hp makes total sense. The breakdown of SD-8E/SD-11 variants and the color/frame differences is the kind of detail that saves people from buying the wrong parts. Those SD-8 specs you listed (torque converter, differential axle, tire sizes, dimensions, weight) are gold for anyone trying to confirm what they have )
