Hello,
My name is Craig, I was a structural steel fitter-welder for thirty years until the company went bankrupt. Now I work on diesel trucks for a living. I bought a kart off of a friend to fix up for the grand kids to ride on, got it running, took a ride, got hooked!
By the way, my Mother was a school teacher and spent a lot of time drilling proper spelling and punctuation into me as you may have noticed from one of my previous posts. Here to have a good time and learn.

Craig.

P.S. I have purchased the Dirt Devil plans and will be picking up parts and materials as time and money allow.

Welcome to the forum Papa P!! The go kart bug seems to be a nasty one. Once you have it, you can't shake it. :D

Reading posts from someone that can spell and use proper grammer is also refreshing. Sometimes you just want to skip posts because it is so bad.

Start a build log when you get going on your build

I like you already! ;)

Me three  There's nothing worse than trying to decipher bad spelling &/or grammer

This kart is proving to be quite popular of late; a few members already have dirt devils under construction

"I'm becoming an 'old-fart' too, I've been contemplating using the term; 'geriatric-gasSer' instead..."

Wonder---,with my CRS disease, will I be able to remember that???

Fixed that for you, LOL!

Lol! Its no big deal jamyers, but you might do some research before attempting to correct me, because my spelling was in fact correct for some meanings of the term, particularly when used as part of a 'sirname' or especially something that would have 'emissions' like a fart ;)

I'm also of Scandinavian descent, so that makes an even stronger case for my spelling...

My first quote below is from this link:--> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaser

Gaser

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gaser may be:

A gamma ray laser (see Induced gamma emission). Gaser is an acronym as laser or maser from Gamma Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation; also sometimes rendered "graser" by using "gamma ray" instead of just "gamma" in the acronym.)

A surname

Plural of "gas" in Scandinavian languages
Misspelling for "geyser"

See gasser

__________

This quoted definition of 'Gasser' can be found at this link:-->
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gasser

Gasser From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gasser can mean:

Gasser (manga), a fictional character also known as Heppokomaru

Gasser (car), a certain style of hot rod

Hungarian or Montenegrin Gasser pistols, e.g.: M1870 Gasser
Someone who or something that gasses in its various meanings
e.g. see The Mad Gasser of Mattoon

Someone with red hair or who has bleached and straightened his hair to an orange reddish tint using gasoline.

Used in the 1940 novel Native Son by Richard Wright and Durango Street (1976) by Frank Bonham
Something exciting or exotic.

In the movie trailer for Pal Joey (1957), Frank Sinatra refers to the red haired Rita Hayworth as a "gasser". He also refers to the film itself as "a real gasser!"
In the movie The Nutty Professor (1963), the dean of the university that Jerry Lewis' character teaches at, says about the formula: "that's right kids, it's a gasser!"

I guess that's not to be confused with the ill-fated "gayser", which was abandoned once it was discovered to have an unnaturally strong affinity for its own type of wavelength emissions and was therefore unable to reproduce?

(shoot me now, please...) :roflol:
