Hey Guys,

Herewith I’d like to introduce myself to you.
2 months ago a friend of mine and me had the crazy idea to build a Kart ourselves.
So we started and built it completely from scratch. Trail and error more than a planned thing lol.

Originally I’m from England but I love in Germany. Unfortunately the beloved Predator engines aren‘t available here so I’ve got myself a 215cc clone. Performance parts can‘t be found here.. I’ve had to order my air filter+adapter from China and built myself a header so I could reach stage 1 at least..

Does anybody know where to get performance parts for clones in Europe or where I can buy them in the states that ship to Germany (for reasonable fees).

Welcome aboard!

Well, you should've gone with a true clone (196cc)
that way you could've used all original Honda (and it's perfomance) parts that are available in germany
(Kart Schütte for example or "GX Tuning Store UK")

The predator IS available in germany under the original manufacturers brand (RATO)
hard to find I admit, but available
not worth the hassle IMHO since it's rather expensive
almost as expensive as the real Honda GX200 which certainly is the better built engine.

You coul've contacted Tillotson (Ireland)
they sell a premodded 212 (a Ducar to be precise)

The only reliable cast performance flywheels are made in germany (PVL)
If they fit your flavour of clone IDK.. chances are they do not.

with a 215cc clone in general,
chances are you're in a dead end already and no known performance part
really fits...

Sure you can still remove the governor, rejet the carb add a high flow filter and exhaust
to step up in rpm and even slightly improve the output power.

But as soon as it comes to engine internals (and that strangely includes the flywheel)
you might be out of luck.
for everything else you already want a billet performance conrod.
And that needs to perfectly fit of course..

You can of course disassemble the engine and measure everything with a micrometer in order to compare dimensions to known parts,
but that doesn't mean you will find them (easily or at all)..
and you'd be left with a disassembled engine waiting for oddsize gaskets to get reassembled,
or something annyoing as that.

No, I don't mind at all..

In the meantime you could take a closer pic of your engine perhaps..
there should be a label on the shroud stating make and model..

with a bit of luck it's a known type and we can trace down
specs or parts in order to find you matching performance parts.

This forum has always been global. Sure....there are a lot more Americans, but there are a ton of other nationalities too

and it's not meant as such.
you 'just joined' this year.. and there's nothing wrong with that IMHO.

It's the subtext Paul (and I for that matter) noticed
in the sentence:

suggesting that it wasn't really until BlueSmoke joined the other day.
And that made Paul and myself grin.
(for obvious reasons)

And that follow up comment made me think that you haven't really understood what Paul was trying to explain, so I tried.

But yeah I get it..
you don't want me to stand right behind you when you
make a mistake or are giving bad advice in other threads than this.

The problem is: some users (p.e. those that joined even later than you did),
might not know that you are a kid just starting to learn yourself,
and that all your advice has to be taken with a grain of salt as of yet.
And quite frankly.. you are very actively posting (that is a good thing!!)
but your error rate is still quite high (not ideal let's say, but not really a problem either)

I mean it's for a reason that you celebrate a lucky guess, no?

So essentially we need to make sure that users get a 'corrected' point of view when needed,
we want all users to be able to fix their problems in as little time and money as possible.
And if there isn't anyone else around or simply not responding;
yeah.. I will step in if I can. (and surely I will NOT stop doing so!)

Relax, it'll get better as your responses improve
until then I'll be breathing down your neck however
