Jetting my GX200 question?

I bought a K&N air filter for my GX200 and found it gets to much air. What size jet would I use? and I'm new to this so i'll have to figure out how to jet the carb. thanks for any help

remove your jet and get a set of numbered drill bits. find the bit that fits through perfectly and clamp the jet in a vice and use a few numbers bigger bit and drill a straight hole if all that make sense... btw an engine cant have too much air, heck you dont even need an air filter to run it!

I beg to differ, you can supply too much.

@hardtimer, Dont use a drill with those bits, you'll end up with an oversize hole if you do. Turning the bit with a pair of pliers works just fine.

Leave it open.. just don't drive through any water crossings.

You should be looking for .036 on main jet size with an intake system and header usually. Maybe slightly less without the exhaust.

Dead on correct!!!
Adding a K & N filter (in itself) does not require re-jetting.
If re-jetting is required, then there are/were other issues to begin with.

You can use a 5/16" In-line Fuel filter.

Wow I got 2 different answers for jetting the carb. Leaves me a little confused. but i will say when i put the new filter on it would not stay running, when i put the old one back on it ran, so slideways I'm leaning towards your answer.

Then, as I said, there are other issues that you are not aware of.
Any filter should appear invisible to carburetor.
I stand by my statements and back them up with experience.

I apologize if it sounded rude, but I'm new and just trying to learn. here are some pics maybe its the throttle.

spark plug says lean, take your carb off, the fuel on/off valve, take the screws out, theres gonna be a washer, what you turn and a rubber thing with 4 peices in it, flip the 4 peice to a diffrent hole, put it all back together, and tighten them down, but not death tight like they were, make sure you have enough fuel in the tank, and that its being gravity fed, if not its not going to get much gas, if you dont have it set up stock, and cant use the original gas tank, its recommended that you get a fuel pump, what style kart is this?

Check it again kendelrk...black is rich.
Porcelain (center electrode insulation) is the indicator.
The black appearance is due to incomplete combustion.

so as far as the spark plug whats the advice i need to make it perfect?, Also as far as what kendelrk said i moved my tank back to the original spot, it wasn't getting the down flow of gas. thanks for that tip, when i moved it the plastic plug broke right off. Thats what inexperience gets yah.

when it was there, it was only getting gas from sucking it, not getting as much as it needed, in the original spot it did perfect
