Hi, I'm planning on using jb weld for a project and was just wondering how strong it is and is there any other alternative products?

I seriously hate when people split information up into dozens of threads...

3ft rc car.. gy6 engine?

Don't try to fuse tubes with JB weld only!

:iagree:.......Buy a welder.....or......Use electrical conduit and connections. ...using a bender as much as possible.......make it out of wood....or abandon the idea until you have the tools and materials to do it right! !!!!

Pretty sure we are not allowed ti use conductive conduit over here
My 1880s house has retro fitted electrcity useing coper tube as conduit

My sparky mate says if I want any sockets added ill have to get the place rewired to pvc conduit

Not going there

I think I just wanted to state for the record, as of late we have had a few people talk about jb in the form of using it to hold together there project.
The basics of this product is that it is an epoxy, a strong metal filled epoxy.
It has no "welding", fusion, properties at all. It is a glue, an epoxy.

Now, yes all the top automotive companies are glueing parts together all the time now, but this glue(epoxy), isn't one of those glues.

But probably not frames.....right. ....and especially not butt joined tubing......

Hmmmm- even amonst electrical PVC conduit. ....there seems to be a difference between countries. .....here water pipe PVC is white....while electrical PVC is gray....the only real difference being that the gray (grey) is UV resistant. ......but both are glued together with PVC cement...

We do have some snap together high pressure plastic piping now.... (fairly recent development. ....and very popular in new construction. ...vs. copper sweat-joint pipe....)...but....it's not ridgid....which also makes it popular as it's forgiving in location.......it's brand name is PEX.

We also have a snap-on fitting for copper pipe called a "Shark Bite"....they work very well but are extremely expensive. ... $5-$6. vs. $0.25- $1 for sweat fittings.....but they are great for connecting new plumbing to old....as the water in the old pipes can be problematic when trying to sweat the joint. ...but no problem with a Shark Bite.......

We also have two colours, grey for electrical & white for stormwater or sewerage, clean water is still copper...

My one concern about PVC is it's flexibility...
