I wasn't sure if this should go into Off Topic because it's not homemade, but w/e.:sifone:

A few weeks ago I went out and bought a Jazz mini dirt bike to play around with. It started having problems about a week in, (it took a LOT more pulls to get it started) and eventually it wouldn't start at all. http://www.daymak.com/bikes-toronto/pages/dirtbikes/jazzdb.html

That is the bike I got. I took the spark plug out and left it over night, i then heated the spark plug with a torch, and I tried 3 different tanks of gas. I use a 50/1 ratio. I would really like to get it to work agin but I'm out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I bought it new. The person that sold it to me told me to run it at 25/1 for the first week, and then change to a 50/1. And I'm not quite sure what you mean by induction system...

EDIT: The warranty was only two weeks, it's now expired.

Salesmen do not know better than manufacturer. Go back to 25:1 unless manufacturer says otherwise. Less oil causes excessive wear and over heating.
Your just saving pennies by using a lighter mix. Not worth the risk.
And I'm not quite sure what you mean by induction system...
I gave examples. "Carb, air cleaner, fuel filter, fuel line, tank, etc."

I was using 25/1 when I started noticing it took a few more pulls, I switched to 50/1 around when it took 20-30 pulls to get it started. Are you saying I should clean all the gaskets from oil and stuff? I'm not very good with engines...

just my 2p

if i flood an engine i turn it over the the throttle fully open to clear it out

are you sure it is sparking as i don't think you have tried that take the plug out and touch it to the engine and pull it you should see a clear spark try a new plug anyway even if the mix is wrong it should still fire

I flip the little choke switch to the up position, the white nob is verticle, and I pull nearly 100 times for almost 15minutes untill I give up and go inside to eat a cookie. The problem with money in my situation is I have too many expensive hobbies; competitively race bikes(around 5000$ a year), airsoft(not nearly as much, maybe 200$ a year), and I even Nerf(proably 500$ a year). I was hoping to be able to get a cheap little bike to fool around on at my cottage. I'll see what I can do...

And I don't think it starts, after a few dozen pulls it sounds like it's going to start(and gets easier to pull), but it never makes it the whole way.

EDIT: How do you check the induction system for flow? And what would you do in order to fix it, if there were a problem?

Do you think that would be the only problem? I want to try and eliminate all the problems as quickly as possible.

Okay, I'll give it a try. Shop opens on Monday so I'll post then with an update. Thanks.

I bought an NGK plug for $8.00 and it doesn't seem to help. What would the procedure be for cleaning out the Carb and induction system?

I'm wondering if (possibly) your engine starting procedure is incorrect which would lead you to believe something is wrong.

Step us through (as Mr. McCormic suggested) what you do when starting a cold engine.

I flip the choke switch upwards, I make sure the white flange is vertical, and I pull(a lot). After a few pulls I will give it a little bit of gas. Is this the correct way to start a cold bike?
