Jackshaft Chain & Drive Chain

I am a new member. My great grandsons have just got a used Coleman KT-196 go kart with some issues. I am fairly knowledgeable mechanically so figured I could probably fix this thing. First thing is the weld on the drive sprocket is cracked so having that repaired. Tried to buy a new motor mount but only found the item on the Coleman site and says out of stock. I also have a question, is the Jackshaft chain and the drive chain the same? They are both quite rusty and thinking while I have this apart should replace them. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Never weld a sprocket to a shaft! BMI,GoKart Supply, MFG Supply, AZUSA and GoPower Sports are some of the big suppliers for parts.

Glad I could help. When trying to fix these things it’s helpful if you can improve on things. Especially the newer karts, it seems they we’re under engineered.

Have never seen that kart up close, but it would seem very strange if both of the chains were not the same.

Thanks they look the same but the parts diagram didn't list the same part numbers. I am going to order two anyway.
