For those interested, see the attached information and pics also.
If I do that it just moves the engine closer to the jack shaft which is welded to the back of the motor mount. I don't see a way to move the sprocket on the jack shaft away from the sprocket on the axle.Chain does stretch over time and there is some adjustment you can do. Loosen the four bolts that are holding the engine in place and pull the engine back towards the bumper. The motor mount plate is slotted 5/16 so you can do this but once you are all the way back to the rear of the slot time for a new chain and you start all over by pushing the engine forward. When you buy replacement chain get the #420 chain.
The engine on jackshaft are mounted on the same plate. Pull the jackshaft towards the rear of the kart to tighten the chain. If to lose remove 1 link.If I do that it just moves the engine closer to the jack shaft which is welded to the back of the motor mount. I will give that a try, thank you. Do you have any pictures or a build thread of your BKS karts? Has anyone started a BKS thread? It would be neat to have a thread specific to these karts. The engine on jackshaft are mounted on the same plate. Pull the jackshaft towards the rear of the kart to tighten the chain. How about a picture, I'd definitely switch that chain clutch out. Those are only ok for mini bikes.I have a BKS Grasshopper, but it is clutch and chain instead of TAV.
