I've had this go kart for about a year and the centrifugal clutch has really not been working great for me. The tires gives the clutch too much stress. I dont think those kind of clutch is made for 18" tires plus I use it off road. I'm planning on switching over to torque converters. Its just that I'm not really sure what else I need. I know I also need to buy a jackshaft. I would appreciate it if someone would post a link or upload a pic where I could see the whole setup( jackshaft and torque converter):auto:

Go Kart
- Ken Bar Streaker s-911 Go kart
-18" rear tires
-13" front tires
-Extreme duty Centrifugal clutch (Northern Tools)
-6.5hp Greyhound engine

If you go with the above TAV2 setup you also need to order it for the chain/sprocket pitch to match what you already have if you have a #35 pitch order that one, if it has a #40/41 pitch order that one.

With this torque converter I still need a jack shaft right? Or does it already have a shaft where I could install a chain to drive the tires/axle?

Here's mine. I added an extra support bearing on the end of my extended JS for more stability since the sprocket is outside of the driven, and not the usual inside.

redsox 985 -I like your set up and will use it on a repro build of Ford's First car the "Quardracycle" excluding a rerpo of the original engine of course. I'll hide the modern 4cycle under a "boot". Just something to putt around the National Forest in. My wife saw your Steelers logo, she's the biggest Steeler fan/Pa transplant in MI. Go Steelers!
