Advice?
Don't!

get an axle. a proper live axle!
with an engine that powerfull on a buggy, maybe even a differential axle, not just a kart one.

Allow me to ask:
What makes this thread different from that one?

Im curious as to how much a piece of 1"cf steel with a keyway is, compared to 2 pieces of the same or less in dia. in your area is. For about $50 or less is what a 48" axle should cost.
... and thats if you bought it from one of the major machinery sources.

edit:There is 2 listings. and most of the other drive train parts.

I really appreciate the link! as another site was asking $3-400 for an axle! My question to you is these axles are cheap but can they handle the torque of a 540 cc snow mobile motor?

You should also be asking that question for the sprockets and chain :) Size 50 or bigger I would think?
