I haven't been able to anything with any of my projects anytime recently since I've been getting everything in the house packed up and ready to move. I had to downsize a lot. I ended up giving my full suspension buggy away to a guy who wanted it to build with his 4 young boys. I'm glad it went to a good home. I was able to jam my other off-road kart in the back of one of the trucks, but that's all I had room for. Here in a few weeks however I will be leave Oregon and drive the last of the stuff from here to Kentucky. Once I get there I will start working on my off-road kart.
Here's what I have planned:
Swap out the locked up 196 for my 224 and throw a new torque converter belt on it, redo the steering to relocate steering from the left side to the center since the thing was built for kids, put a bucket seat with a harness in the center in exchange for the old bench and lap belts, new tires, rack and pinion steering, and wire up some lights.
This will get me going while I gather parts for what I want to do. Here's what I want to do:
Get my hands on a cheap 4x4 fourwheeler and steal the front end to make the rear have independent suspension while being driven by the engine(my Polaris has a chain drive front diff, but it's too nice to rip apart for parts). And then order some cheap Chinese atv from suspension and put it under the front.
What do y'all think?
