Today marks the day that I am no longer allowed to ride my go kart. :(

I have only had my go kart for a few weeks now any my :censored: holed filled neighborhood has called the cops on me 4 times. Now I have never done anything unsafe. I have used my hand for turn signals, stopped at all stop signs, have gone the correct speed limit, but still get the cops called. My predator engine isn't even modified, still with the quiet exhaust. Though I have never gotten caught by the police, they are ALWAYS around my neighborhood now.

I am still going to work and maintaine my go kart. My parents said that I have to leave it in the basement until we get property which is probably never going to happend. But for now I will hold on to the little hope that I have; at least they are letting me keep my go kart. :worried2:

I will be putting the go kart in storage tomorrow.

That is a bummer dude. You did the right thing following rules ,using hand signals and stopping and being respectful. Maybe you can take it out somewhere this spring and summer, off road where it is legal.
I wish I could say more but out of respect for your parents (and you for that matter) I will just say continue being a respectful person. You sound like a good guy...

Oh the heck with it. Go throw eggs at their houses!!!! JK

it will certainly take some of the fun out of it but check your local laws and see if you can make it street legal, sometimes this doesn't take much!

once it's street legal, throw a loud @ss open pipe on that exhaust and rip it back forth in front of his house for hours!

Man, if you can make a bicycle with a weedeater engine or an ATV four wheeler street legal, then you can make a go-kart street legal. Shouldn't take too terribly much. I would say it's at least worth looking into!

This really does suck! I feel your pain, its like people have nothing better to do than b**** and moan. The reason I actually got my mini street legal is because of this same problem. Cops were called a handfull of times on me, cops never really cared, just told me to park it up. Until one day I got a cop who must of had a bad day and gave me and a buddy a ticket. So I made it street legal and did exactly what supermanotorious said... Ride it up and down passed there house all day!! Nothing they can do about it now.

Im not an ***, but if you constantly call the 5.0 on me for no reason (its not like im doing donuts in your yard) I will retaliate somehow, especially if I was being respectful to begin with with.

making it road legal wont ever work, there laws put in place by the DOT for legal bumper heights, go karts will never fit that bill sadly..

sounds like you live in a neighborhood who also has a HOA.. and im sorry for that. lmao

You know....I've been harassed by Cops and neighbors, and regardless of skin color, some cops feel they have carte blanche to ignore age discrimination.

In my younger years I played guitar EXTREMELY LOUDLY...but was actually legal under the law, but constantly harassed and ordered to stop playing. Now, I don't have that problem.

As a teenager, a friend and I used to fish a creek and got run off by shotgun and by Deputy Sheriff, even though we were in our rights to do so. What SHOULD have happened is the idiot that shot at us should have been jailed....but we argued for 15 minutes that we were involved in legal activity, and should be allowed to continue...which was constantly countered with "Y'all wanna go to jail?"

Here's a funny part: the deputy and my friend both had red hair. The deputy said:" I've been on this patrol for 5 years...and I know my law, red."

Without blinking an eye, my buddy said:" And I've lived on this creek for 17 years (true),....and I know my law too, RED!"

But...we had to leave...run off legal fishing ground...(the way we were doing it...NOT ON THE BANK)....because we weren't taken seriously.

Yah the age discrimination thing sucks. My dad tried to put up a shed on the side of our house ( a very nice looking one) No one could see it, but somehow the HOA told us we had to take it down. I havn't looked into getting it street legal but I'm only 15 so I wouldn't be able to ride it anyway. That's why you buy an unincorporated house, or one that's grandfathered into the area so you can do whatever you want without a HOA.

That sort of :censored: is slowly trying to move into my neighborhood, and the Township board has been pretty good at telling the idiots who think that they have the right to tell the rest of us how to live to take a long hike. Unfortunately, they just seem to get craftier, and keep trying to drive people who've lived here for decade's out.

It comes down to them not being able to afford to live in the "In" places, so they move into somewhere that us mere mortals can afford, and then do their flat out best to drive the rest of us out so they can build their piss poor version of their "In" place....... :censored: :mad2:

We're getting really close to a political discussion here...

:backtotopic:

Which was? Discrimination? Political oppression?

That is what really bothers me...REALLY......You can twist almost anything to be be political or discriminatory or religious....BECAUSE! !!!.... We all have political preference, religious preferences, and a certain degree of prejudice!

As soon as we step into these areas, it's impossible not to cross those lines in someone's opinion.

So....I'm just going to try and connect with a higher power of my own choosing....and .....??????

Would it be too political to suggest:
That we lobby our local municipalities to pass legislation making it legal to drive go karts on the street. Now mini bikes are legal in some places as long as they are 49cc or below.
So what if we proposed some ideas or rules about Go Karts.
A you need a flag.
B you must be like 14 yrs old.
C noise level of exhaust.
D Neighborhoods only not City streets.

Or for Example, did anyone read Dennis' book. Go kart alley? About a converted Railway, to walking path/ go kart highway.

We were discussing HOA restrictions and Cops and how some neighborhoods or states are more Go Kart friendly than others. Sometimes Politics ARE a legitimate kart topic.

Now if I said Poboy was a stupid Democrat and he should get a brain like the smart Republicans. That would be tooo Political.
