I just purchased a used minibike. The engine started up just fine. I disconnected lights and whatnot and BOOM the engine doesn't start. I think its CDI but I'm not positive. Please help!
Yeah, with pulling wires I'd think something with the kill switch/ignition system went screwy. Easiest way to check (if you mixed up the wires) would be to pull the plug and check to see if it sparks fine.
I just can't think of any way the kill switch could/should/would be connected to the lights...
I think I got it solved. I'll check to see if the plug is sparking (just wrench it out and pull the starter cord and see if it sparks?) but I think it's my fuel. I believe it's a 2 stroke engine and I forgot to pre-mix oil. Oops...
The spark plug sparks, I checked it this morning by wrapping a wire around the threaded part of the spark plug then running that wire down to the ground wire. I pulled the starter and it sparked. I cleaned out the carb (I think. I unscrewed the primer bulb and gas came out). The new 32:1 mixture is in the gas tank, I can see it in the gas lines as well. I pushed the primer bulb twice and tried to crank it up by pulling the starter cord 5 times. Nothing happened.... Still dont know what is wrong. Any other suggestions???
