I was able to finally try out my new kart and noticed that if i gave it throttle and held onto it the driven unit would open up and the kart wouldnt move because the belt would get loose its a 40 series

i have a thirty series, mine is ran that way. i think, it is on right. should be because it should have the movable faces on the same side. i think your belt may be a bit too loose.

since one side of the belt on a 30 series is almost flat, the belt won't shift over as if moves up and down the pulley, so the movable faces can be on the same side IIRC. someone correct me if i'm wrong

Im not sure it matters which way they go does it? Most can be changed to work clockwise or counterclockwise. As far as which way the belt moves for alignment, when trying to figure out my setup I noticed that they are used either way, (spring inwards, spring outwards)

sure you can on mine anyway. i have the double rubbers to allow spring in or out op. but since asymm, i run mine mirrored. flats on same side. wait i'm thinking i can flip the drive pulley too. i'll have to check that out. ps, i went to pull the driven's fixed sheave off of the jackshaft, using a ratchet, i warped the crap out of the 2 and a half sheave. can you say bannana? it is back in shape with a little help

I don't get how the belt would get loose? The driver pushing in, and the driven spinning the wrong way should keep it pressed against the stops, shouldn't the belt tighten?

i flipped it around today still have to finish it up though should have it done tomorrow only problem left is the two front tires wont fill up and we've tried just about everything and the air escapes through the edges of the rim probably going to take it to walmart and see if they can get air in them

Just be careful. Watch the vid closely- He uses very little ether. Don't skimp out on the safety gear either.
The safe and sane way to do it is to wrap a ratchet strap around the circumference of the tire and crank it down some. Pour a generous amount of dishsoap and water mix all around the bead seating areas and as you're adding air, manipulate the tire to close any gaps. It is exponentially helpful to have an air chuck that locks onto the valve, leaving both hands free to deal with the tire, just remember to whip that puppy back off right after the bead seats to you don't risk overinflation if your pressure's a little high.

The tire isn't off the bead, but it won't seal? Drool a bunch of dishsoap and water all around both seating surfaces. If that doesn't do it, I think you're going to have to dismount the tire and clean the he// out of the bead surfaces with a wire wheel or something. Or buy tubes.

yeah im going to try and get it to a tire shop see what happens might just get two new front tires i rode it around with the flat tires today after i finished putting the driven unit and new chain on there now i only have the tires i have to fix and the plastic piece that goes on the car hooked up to the throttle keeps popping off if i hit the throttle pedal from idle to full and have to reach back for the kill switch to slow down
