As the title suggests I have purchased a Chinese torque converter and the belt seems fairly tight.
The kart has become quite difficult to push around with the belt attached.
As you can see this is after about 15minutes of riding
Thoughts please

Thanks Neil

The Chinese knock off I bought from eBay also had a belt that was waaay to tight. For me the center to center was 6.75in with a 6in driven, so I just ordered a new belt that would fit that measurement and so far it has not failed me yet.

From the three I own, I've found if I put the belt on the driven, I need to squeeze the the belt to slide in onto the driver.
This seem about right to me.

If you have to struggle to get it on, it's gonna be too tight.
If it just goes on super easy, it might be a bit too lose.

The belt is not the same as the comet 30 series. Center to center distance is slightly longer on the Chinese torque converter. You have the wrong belt probably. Flat side of belt toward the motor.

Using this guide from comet the belt is too tight as it has no movement at all

Kart was hard to push when not running, bronze bearing wore out, excess heat and rubber dust from the belt wear was all over the TC. Smelled real hot to.

Update.
I was able to take a bit of pressure off by undoing the mounting bracket bolts and moving the backing plate up and down to find the shortest spot. But I still think it's a little too tight time will tell I guess

Yeah i just ordered a belt from GoPowerSports and two different people gave me two different belt sizes... and one guy said they should both work yet there is a .5" difference in belt size, that sound like a bunch of carp or, nah?

I just want to know why you're pushing your kart around, instead of driving it? :D

He's one of those people, you know, who never tops off the gas tank and likes running around on fumes. By the time it's too late he's 1-2 miles away from home. :p

That tight belt gave me the willies Joe. The only way to correct this is to... h-h-hu-hula hoop. Ahhh.
