I did a search for this particular engine on this site and did not find specifics about it... so I'll start my own thread.

Is the lifan 125cc engine worth spending the money on? I have a 49cc mini-chopper frame that I'm re-working and am considering fitting it with this engine. Being that its a chinese engine, and i know some people have issues with them.... I would like to know what those issues are and if this will last a few years on my project bike?

This is the Lifan-125cc engine I'm looking at. Is the $240 (+$50 shipping) an average price for it? It does include all pieces to make it run.

It is my understanding that Lifan is pretty much at the top of the heap of Chinese engine manufacturers. I don't know how good the quality is, but it is supposedly better than most.

Also, some of them have 3 or 4 speed transmissions, which could be a cool thing on a minibike.

That looks like a great motor and they do come with transmission, stator Ithink. It's almost to good to be true .That would look tough in a small bike!
