ok i got a engine mount with the jackshaft inside of the mount from bmikarts. so i slotted the holes for the engine to slide so i can adjust the chain tension where the clutch and first jackshaft sprocket are. so thats taken care of but im wondering before i weld the engine mount to the swingarm, should i attach the chain and connect the 2nd jackshaft sprocket with the axle sprocket and adjust the chain tension and then while the chain is at good tension weld it to the swingarm? do you think there is any better way? thanks

btw i accidentally made this thread in project logs.

I scrubbed your "mistake" thread.

I personally don't like the idea of welding it in, because one the chain begins to wear, you cannot adjust the tension. There are other ways of tensioning the chain. You can shim the axle pillow blocks, or maybe create a slotted mount for the jackshaft/engine mount. Put up a pic, and we may have more detailed ideas for you.
