Is 50cc enough to push 140 pounds

I can’t see a 50cc engine putting out that much power though. You have to be honest with yourself, do you want to have it go that speed or do you want to do it reliably? You may want to consider going with something more reliable like a 212 Rotoderp or something along those lines.

Those don’t have a lot of power, maybe 1hp. Add in a centrifugal clutch and I doubt you could get it to move you and the kart.

Them 66cc (so called 80cc 🤣) gas bike engines Are maybe 2hp, but if you can tune a 2t and really wring them for all they can give you can make 5hp all day, if you're real good and precise closer to 6.5hp. I happen to know those will haul 250lbs of bike, rider, and fuel at as much as 65mph... if ported, upgraded, and tuned properly.

The thing is they have an internal reduction of 4:1 between the crank and clutch.
