Howdy,
My name is Rupert, and I'm an alcoholic.
Not really, but I do enjoy a Guinness every now and then and occasionally brewing some adult beverages.
Career wise I'm an IT professional, dealing mostly with cellular data networks. But that's just my day job.....
Hobby wise I like to tinker with just about anything, although after graduating college and starting a career and getting married it seems I have less free time on my hands. I do have some projects I started and never finished. The main one is a mini-bike conversion. I bought an electric minibike from Wal-Mart several years ago. It was kind of fun but didn't go very fast, didn't accelerate hard, could barely pull me up a slight hill, and took far too long to charge. So, I ripped all the guts off of it down to just frame, wheels, and tires, and affixed a weed-whacker engine to it. But that’s about as far as I've gotten with it (that was summer 2007). I've come here seeking knowledge and advice for finishing that project now that I have my own garage in which to work.
Also, I might want to try building a go-kart mostly from scratch, so once again, here for knowledge and advice on that.
And I tend to be a grammar freak so don't get offended if I point out your grammatical/spelling/usage errors; I'm only doing it to try to help you out (I make plenty of these mistakes myself).
