Hey everyone this is my first post here so here goes! I'm building a go kart/racing mower contraption with a Predator 420cc and as of right now the carb and air filter hits my leg when I do some mock ups. I'm probably gonna get a 32 or 34mm Mikuni and I would have to move the carb to a new spot. My idea for a new maifold would be a 90 degree elbow with a total length of 4 inches. So my question is how much will the longer runner affect my engine, I'll get some more low end and that's fine (I'm kinda going for a torque monster with some mid range). Is there anything else I need to worry about? Thanks in advance!

A 90 may be fine, but I'd be concerned about the fuel falling out of suspension when it makes the bend. I think you're right about a longer intake giving more torque. Is there a way to make a more gradual turn to help smooth things out and give the air and fuel a straighter shot at the valve?
