One could (as always) also opt for a quicker acceleration instead of higher speeds.. but that's personal preference again

Sadly she is as torqy as the gearing will allow. Cant go any smaller on the motor or any bigger on the axle. The 0-25mph is impressive enough I am starting to think I should have went with #41 chain vs the #35 chain I am using now.

Nice summer day and dry roads today! Put on the 15T sprocket and she screamed all the way to 38mph on the dot! Maybe some loss of torque but not enough to notice. The motor did get much warmer though. Maybe 70ish degrees on the outside after multiple high speed runs.

Took her for a longer ride today hitting multiple stop to top speed runs. Motor cool to the touch but the wires going to the motor are feeling warm. Also talking to Leeson I found out my motor was made in 1997. Low on my list of things to do but still contemplating how I am going to mount/run the 3.6hp motor.

Was looking at the wiring on the Nash kart I got today.. battery cables are labeled 25mm welding cable.. that’s between the motors, isolators, and speed controller. It’s 72v for reference of gauge for your kart..

My other kart is 48v running 10 gauge with one of those chinesium boma/ 1800w speed controllers ... those wires never get hot. But that kart runs super efficient..

wow 00 gauge on the nash! how long are they? The Leeson came with 10ga wires and I swapped them out for 4ga after a guy on another forum melted them with the same controller. He was running 48v lead acid and his kart had to have weighed triple what mine does.

What controller are you running with the boma? I was thinking about one of these adjustable via bluetooth controllers or a kelly for when I pick up a boma 1800w for the mini bike.

I’m runningnthe package deal .. it runs good together as long as you can figure out the wiring.. I wouldn’t spend the money on a kelly to just run that boma style..
