in need of help

i was giving 2 go karts that need repaired. im a mechanic, but im not sure if they are worth fixing for my kids. what should i be looking at to decide? 1 is a single seater, only part of the manufactures name is there, "......r's thunder karts, inc". it needs brakes repaired, and the chain jumps off. the second is a 2 seater, and murray is stickered all over it. the frame is cracked, but i can weld that, but i need a recoil starter to begin engine troulbeshooting. what do you all think? thanks for helping

if you know how to weld and have a cutting torch and wire wheel, you can fix ANYTHING. seriously. the cracked frame isn't bad. get junior out there to crank the motor, or just get a cheapy 5hp horizontal shaft from harbor freight. its like 97$. easiest solution. for the first frame just go to northern tool (AKA harbor freight) they have brake solutions for cheap.

Northern Tool and Harbor Freight are two different stores. Dont confuse them. Northern carries alot of name brand tools, where as Harbor Freight has all Chinese tools.

...At any rate, it's really your call as to what's worth it, an what's not. I'd love a couple of freebies like that, and would have no problem giving them what they need. You have tools, you have ability... What's your motivation like?

thanks for the opinions. 1 is up and racing. my kids are having a blast. actually me too!!
