Trying to get this hub off to change the tire. Thought i could split and put it back together while not removing this hub. Turns out that was harder said than done.
While trying to remove the bolts, i got a ratcheting wrench stuck… smh.
Now moving on to removing the clutch bolt and taking everything apart but not sure the procedure here. Any ideas?

I really can't comment ton the wheel situation, other than soak it with some penetrating oil while you figure it out. As far as the clutch, I would remove the spark plug stuff the cylinder with nylon rope and try a small to medium pipe wrench on thet big washer. If that doesn't break the bolt loose, put the pipe wrench, not Vise Grips on the head of the bolt. Counter clockwise to loosen. Once the bolt is out, the clucth might slide off. If not, put some penetrating oil between the crankshaft and the clutch sleeve. Go to a hardware store and get a real bolt to match the threads on that one. The clutch should move when you get back.

What clutch bolt are you referring to?

What bolt are you referring to?

The "bolt" that holds the clutch on, is usually a ~5/16" (or 3/8") x ~1" long bolt
...that threads into the crankshaft (the thing with the big "grove" cut into it)

IMO that kinda looks like a locking collar
...& if so, there should be a "set screw" on the side somewhere

The thingamabob holding the clutch onto the shaft looks like a non-standard thick washer and a “nut with a female hex socket” on the end? No female parts should be on any kart! Just manly male parts! 😂

Liquid Wrench, WD40 and the like should be doused over those parts to assist disassembly. It looks like you cut a screwdriver slot into the end of the female nut socket? Good idea but to exploit this advancement I would suggest using an impact screwdriver on it. Now for the newbs here (maybe not you), this is a thick screwdriver about the size of a C cell battery flashlight, just like Grampa’s. You put the appropriate bit on the end, stick the screwdriver on the fastener and whack the end with a hammer. Use the largest flat blade bit it comes with.

The Liquid Wrench is best used in conjunction with fire from a propane blowtorch. For more heat, use MAPP gas (yellow bottle). High heat expands metal and thus loosens nuts, bolts and screws. Using all these methods may take a while before success comes or it may come apart immediately.

EDIT: wait, is MAPP gas discontinued? Just get propane with the blow torchy thing on the end. Bonus points if has a trigger igniter.

Man that almost looks like a drain plug and if so, I bet its cross threaded.

Looks like you could get a pipe wrench on it...

Of course try a hex driver in the female socket, it looked like it was mangled a bit and wouldn’t work anymore but it may still have enough “purchase” to turn the screw. Remember righty-tighty, lefty-loosey

Replace the chain, sprocket and clutch. They’re wasted and maybe the band for the brake too. Look closely at them. By the way that looks nothing like a pickle. I don’t know what brand you buy?

I've actually refurbished clutches and chains that were that unsightly. Clutch still worked but it was rusty (and ugly, boo-hoo!). Chain responded well to some quality time with a cup shaped wire wheel on an angle grinder. Ran the wheel all over the side plates and spun the rollers getting all sides shiny, then soaked it in dirty motor oil. Buyer couldn't tell the difference. 😁

If the sprockets are toast, you must replace, not much getting around that.

In photos 3 and 4 is the wear pattern on the big sprocket teeth legit? The hooked teeth are typical but it looks like the chain was cutting an extra radius in the dip between two teeth. Maybe the chain pitch is a little off.... could be due to chain stretch.

Show us the hub. The kart has strong Manco vibes with the cast rims.

☝️He is right. The clutch may move but it nor the wheel/hub/sprocket/brake assembly will come off with the chain still attached….unless you slide them both off simultaneously (and that’s a feat in and of itself). Anyways.

Removing the chain is the first thing you do.
