would one of these make a good kart frame? with maybe a few modifications? or is it not worth it.

I like that idea but if it was me i'd either brace up the wooden floor where your going to put the engine or just completely take the wood off and put a metal engine mount there...

and youd have cut out some part of it anyway to put the chain(if thats what your doing)

or is that what your planning to do anyway?

I don't imagine one of those is designed to handle the stresses of a moving kart, but they are **** sturdy so who knows.

I thought those things are like a lead brick and wouldn't travel well but I don't think I have tried to lift one so I'm not sure either. Would make a cool project if you tried though .

Depends how big of wheels you are going to use( i hope your not using the ones in the picture,impossible anyway)but your going to have to put them out a ways to get any decent steering

the photo is of the internet BTW.would add reinforcement even though the frame is pretty beefy but not welded well( if you look closely you can see that the ends of the tubes are pinched then welded witch takes away some strength) the engine would a rear mounted 13 hp predator with the wood removed in that area so the chain is no problem, but I would need some suggestions for the steering. thanks!
