My go kart has some kind of problem. I replaced the battery after a no start issue. OK so battery replaced still no go. in the beginning After new battery I could get it to turn over but not start. Replaced the spark plug and drained the gas and put fresh gas in. Still no go. I changed the ignition coil it think that is what is called. still nothing. Now I get nothing but a click. I replaced the starter and now It just clicks. But now the ground wire was smoking at the terminal. So now I am lost as far as getting this thing to start. It is a Tecumseh HM 100. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated at this point.

Bad ground; check the other end of the ground wire... & all terminals for that matter...

ALso, by now, the battery is most likely flat due to working but not being recharged...

Have you verified that it has spark?

if you are VERY carefull.. you can try to jb-weld this up;
clean and degrease the case as good as possible.
oil the bolts (let them soak a bit, shake off excess)
and insert just the bolts in the remaining threads, as good as possible..
make sure no oil is oozing , if.. start over degreasing the engine ...
apply epoxy (embedding the broken off parts when possible) and allow it to cure about half way,
then carefully unscrew the bolts, take your time it's still fragile.

then allow it to fully cure (just ignore it the next two days to be perfectly sure it's cured)
mount the coil and use a shim to space it properly.

tighten down the bolts with a knurled washer, do not overtighten.
And now test it... wiggle.. harder... and how did it go?

Good luck!

PS Oh you can also tig weld it or have it tig welded... but that's expensive and you can most likely buy a new crankcase cheaper than that ...
Oh no wait it's a tecumseh... maybe not cheaper to get a new one ;)
