Ok to start this off id like to say karts out in ca compared to az are very different .You find many dofferent brands of karts out here that i have never heard of .I picked up a kart a few days ago (emmick chassis) with a ackward looking motor that runs on methanol that somewhat ressembles a tecumseh star and a briggs 305 has the name clements all over the motor and frame.I will put up a few pics when i get a second to do so .

Response: That is my old kart and my old Star motor. I remember it well.

Would you like to sell it back to me ?* They don't have the Star class anymore but I always liked those engines.

The chassis is a 1990 Emmick Pro International.

Motor should make about 19 hp. on alcohol.

I would if it has sentimental value to him and not you. Just don't lose money in the deal.

Sentimental value usually means money to the seller.

If it was me, I'd sell it to him for what I payed for it and let him handle the shipping if he can't come pick it up.
You might not make money but if you ever need anything from his shop you've got an "attaboy!" in your pocket.
But that's just me.

He said he could also build me a custom up to date motor with more hp in trade for this one .I have to weigh the fact that im also building my house .

If it's just the motor he wants and is willing to trade you a new built one, I'd say that's a more than fair offer.

Ran into a slight problem !!! The motor because it runs on methonal has such high compression the starter will not crank it over fast enough to get it started it has trouble at the compression stroke.I am currently using a lawn mower grade battery should i bump up the size of the battery to automotive grade ???
