I'm glad you're Chevy has worked out - no doubt most do and I've had a few I was happy with over the years as well. I've also had a couple Fords, a Dodge, a Toyota, a Mazda, and a whole lot of Nissans. On the whole, I find the quality of the imports - and the response of the dealership when there are issues - to be much better where the imports are concerned. I'm not pleased that this is the case, but this has been my experience and I'm not alone given the strong market share solidly possessed by the import manufacturers.

I wasn't so much commenting on the relative quality of Chevrolet as pointing out that those who were building poor quality vehicles had to make vast improvements to prevent loss of the entire market to those building superior vehicles. This is a good thing for the consumer - we get a better product at the best price possible - and it's all possible because of the free market that exits. Sure appliances are sold in the same free market but there's no great distinction from one the the next (like there is with automobiles) and it is for this reason that we have to settle for disposable non-repairable junk.
