Hey guys,

Super excited to get started on my offroad kart project. I work weekends but have 1 day off a week so I'm hoping that over the course of a few months I can put together a kart for the summer to thrash in the mud with. I'll link my Imgur where I have some pics of my current designs.

I'm wondering what you guys think I should do for suspension. I have considered single A arms, double wishbone, J arms (kinda like a Honda Odyssey kart), and a swing-arm for the back. I've spent a lot of time looking at all the options out there for suspension. My biggest concern is budget, but it also needs to perform in the mud. Where I ride there are often huge sections of muddy bogs or even just plain old rivers.

Anyways just thought I'd post here to get some input on where to start with all this.

Thanks guys

The album seems privet.......If you have and want to post pic... just upload them... its easier for all of us...

Id say, think on what motor you want to use... then think on how it will fit with the above criteria and budget(how much).....

Are you equipped to build lots.....

Alot of this is going to be on how much you want to do yourself if you have limited funds.
Need to find a good donor to start from. Craiglist ect are a good start.

sorry about that! I'll upload some pics.

I do have most tools needed to fab up my frame and suspension. I am most likely going to start with a donor buggy and maybe an old ATV. For the motor, I'd love a Vanguard V-Twin but those are hard to come by. I just want good torque for climbing through mud. The images are just sketches but I think I will just take the suspension off an ATV front end then make a swing-arm for the back.

I found a Quadrunner 250 for donor parts. The guy wants 350 but hopefully he ll take less cause it's roughed up pretty bad.
