Most 2 seater karts that I have seen have the steering wheel over to one side. Ii is generally not in the middle. I am not too sure which side is favoured though

ya most countrys are

our exchange students find shifting gear the hardest to get use to

mostly the road rules are the same just oppersite side
but u have hard wired in your brain to shift with your right hand
which is hard when u are in the right hand seat

We have right hand drive cars here as well. Most cars are stick shift too. Only the more expensive cars are automatics. I don't like them anyway, so I don't mind

Ya manual is faster in my eyes

Also as I discovered in the rain

Manuals are easier to get sideways even a big 4x4 :wai:

Most cars are auto here even the newer 4x4s are going auto and they are rubbish
Most of my friends don't have a manual licence

Here, most people go for their manual licence, and then can drive an automatic as well. If you do your licence in an automatic, you cant drive a manual.

Yep manual allows both auto is only auto

Also it's harder to upgrade to a truck licence
But theres no need to get a manual licence if u will never own a manual

They don't want you to start driving a truck (over 16 tons) if you only have a car licence. Imagine getting in a 16 wheeler and trying to drive it if you have only ever driven a car.

You can also only get your learners licence at 17yrs and your drivers at 18

Ya a truck as in a freight hauler

A truck to u is a pickup or ute

It takes 2 years to get a full car licence here

Which I find odd as most of our roads are dead straight and flat
Our biggest killers is drink driving

OMG!! I'm so with you in that man. Down shift and get on the gas and its easy to go sideways haha. But if you put me in an australian 4x4 stick-shift, Id be so **** confused.

I would just step right back outta the truck and start walking haha

Ah okay, that's like getting your CDL here in the states to drive 18 wheelers. It still boggles me the different ones for manual and automatic though! Here most people can get their license at 16. That's when I got mine.

Bakkie! Haha I'm gonna start saying that now!! Lol

Yeah, they always punch the door haha. Just remember the driver goes in the middle of the road and you'l be right. :)

Here there's about a billion types of licence. A car lic is for any vehicle with GVM under 4500kg (aprox 9000lbs) and can seat no more than 12 adults. Above that you have a light rigid lic which is for vehicles with a GVM between 4500 and 8000kg (16000lbs), unlimited seating capacity AFIAK. Then there's heavy rigid which is for vehicles with a GVM up to 8000kg that have 3 or more axles. For the above 2 you must hold a car licence for 1 year before going for the test.

From there it goes Heavy combination, which is a 9000kg+ GVM semi trailer, then Muiltiple Combination which is the same thing but more than one trailer.

Getting each licence automatically means you're allowed to drive any vehicle below that.

Also, a car (or higher) licence means you can legally ride a "moped" (by which it means scooter, a moped has pedals, hence Motor Pedal) of no more than 50cc with a top speed of 60km/h or less. Technically, a moped lic is below a car lic and you can get one at the age of 16, a year before you can get a car lic.

Bike licences are another kettle of fish, you must have your 250 lic for a year before going for your open class.

There's about 65356487 freaking retarded steps and tests you have to do to get your car lic (as I'm sure Fowler with agree) and most of the other licences.

Log books and the Hazard Perception Test suck donkey balls.

Thanks

Hayden
