So... many years ago I got this kart. Posted wondering who made it... no luck... figured why not try again.

It seems too well made for a homemade unit, unless someone knew what they were doing. Main frame is 1 5/8in, and the res 1 1/8in.

Yeah, its pretty sad shape right now... but maybe that will change.

:cheers2:

Oh man, read the reviews of the book! LOL

Okay I am pretty sure this is hoax, right?
"You can get hit with the blue shell and still stay in first place...to avoid getting hit with green shells..."
I am pretty sure that is a mario cart reference.

The version I got was 13 pages. None of the book made any sense. The sentences were just random statements, some about karts and some about directions to someplace.

It contained no diagrams, material lists, methods and processes,I expected a how to guide on go cart building.I should get my money back.

There is no useful information in this "book". It clearly looks as if someone from a non-English-speaking country has cobbled together a bunch of randomly generated nonsense with the plan to to make money as quickly as possible.

Sorry I guess that doesn't help ID the kart. But fact the picture is in the Non-sense go kart book is hilarious to me.

haha Yes, it is MY picture. NOT my "book".
I forgot about that stupid thing...

I think that picture is in my first thread asking the ID of this kart way back when.

that kart surely is not homemade...

IMHO.. if you google "off road go kart 80cc"
and look at the pics, you'll surely agree that your kart looks to be the predecessor of those;
same genes if you know what I mean ;)

Anyways, I'd say it's 'alike' maybe US made, maybe chinese, IDK,
but at least I'd say it'd be the grandfather of those tiny 80ccs on alibaba,
therefor I doubt it's a one off hand made go kart,
much more likely a mass produced kart that (either due to size or price) wasn't very well received and is now long forgotten.
maybe 1980s or such...

It would be hard to believe it was homemade... I know there are people out there that could pull it off.

I dont know all i see is a red gokart. :roflol:

I dont think its a chinese unit... nuts, bolts, and the axle arent metric. Standard 4 bolt pattern rear wheels... same as a golf cart I believe.

When I got it, it had a 5hp briggs, split aluminum sprocket. no provisions for a jackshaft it was geared to go around 30mph, with 18in rear tires that also makes me wonder about the homemade option as I cant imagine a manufacturer gearing so high on such a big kart.
I dont think a TC would have fit very well.

Im not wanting it to be homemade... Just some thoughts on it.
