Well I picked up a kt100 for my panther x and while I was there the guy said he had a kart he was getting ready to cut and modify into a yard kart. I asked if I could see it and after dragging it out from under a 6 ft pile of leaves he pulls this out. Any idea what it is? I'm proly gona buy it regardless so he don't hack it up just looking for an id. Thanks in advance.

Looks like a racing kart frame. Id buy it to. Sorry no help on IDing it. The paint job throws it off some what. Throw an engine on it and have fun. It is cool looking.

hack job

Ok so no I'd on the black and yellow kart... no worries as it is still a straight and complete frame. Now comes this pile that I picked up fo 50 bucks. The frame looks to be highly modified. I think it used to be a straight frame rear engine kart that was cut and widened to make it a sidewinder. The steerjng shaft had tabs welded higher and the homemade spindles were turned to face rearward and the front porch was definitely added just by judging of the welds lol. O and the floor pan was welded to the bottom of the kart and has now been removed and a replacement panel is installed with welded on tabs. It is surprisingly solid and straight I just don't know if I should put anytime or effort into it yet. I really only picked it up for the seat, brake components, and steering hub and wheel for another kart I'm working on. But it has margay stars for front rims and I'm not sure what the rears are. Not to bad for 50 buks if I do say so myself. If nothn else there is a bad *** margay sticker on the floorpan that i may have redone and hung up lol. Let me know what you guys think.

As Max pointed out, the first kart will be difficult to ID because of the paint job: Car Manifacturers use checks or zebra print designs on pre release cars for road testing to disguise the lines of a vehicle...

The second kart appears, to me, to be home made with pre made nerf bars added...

:iagree:
the second kart is most likely (like 99%) home made with few OEM parts added/reused.

for sure it's not a Margay, and it never was, neither an XPert nor a Bandito,
the zebra kart would resemble more similarities to a Margay (and it's not a Margay either ;))
by the length of the front it seems to be an old enduro frame *shrugs* but I cannot find any similar ATM.

looks to be an american model but I cannot even narrow it down enough for an imagesearch.

Update on the yellow and black kart... it has been confirmed to be a cks mach 1 (comet kart sales). I emailed them and they said its for sure a mach 1, 1985 model. I couldn't find a whole lot on the Web about them but have a few leads on other ppl that may have one or two laying around and am working on finding out as much as possible about it. One thing I did notice about the ones I have seen on the Web is that none have the side to side adjustable blocks for the steering shaft. Mine appears to have 3 different mounting positions side to side and none of the others I have seen are like that. Anyways I'm done purchasing karts till I get the 3 I have complete enough for the vintage races this year.
78-79 margay panther x
1984 margay sr16
1985 cks mach 1
