We are being pummelled by ICE on top of the 15" of snow we have already. Forcast is for 1 1/2" of ice on top of the sh#t down now. Trees are falling and power is flickering. IT'S COLD, TOO. -2 DEGREES! Kart is stuck in garage and has no prayer of moving for awhile. Looks like it's time to take it apart and make it better! Can somebody stop the ice from falling, please?

let's just say, when there's ice in TEXAS, it's cold cold cold everywhere else! a big sheet that formed today. I know this is no big deal to northerners, but for us it's rare!!!:surrender:

Quite the storm, eh? It's just made its way up to me. I am taking the day off today, the first "snow day" I've taken in years. I've got a 4wd Durango with wicked snow tires, and a Never Say Die attitude towards driving in lousy conditions. But the prospect of spending hours locked up in Toronto traffic, all the extra burnt fuel thru my thirsty V8, reduced time at work (and therefore reduced pay) and lost free time too- nah. Forget it...

It's too gnarly here to work on much of anything substantial, either. Gonna have to do some snow removal today (driveway's nearly 1000 ft long) and some other puttering around, but basically, a wasted day. Perhaps I'll go take some measurements and make some sketches towards the engine swap I think I'm going to do in my kart.

EDIT- Robert- No, no big deal- but surprising to see in Texas!

We got some freezing rain yesterday and today...

And what really sucks is that my kart is out in it...

I never heard of an ice storm until we got hit by one in 1978.
It occurred on Friday, January 13th through all the following day.
Luckily, my Tecumseh powered generator pulled us through the seven days that we were without power.
Many of my neighbors suffered broken pipes, frozen tropical aquariums, etc.

One woman asked "Why do you have power and no one else does?"
I said 'I generate my own power!'
She said "WOW...looks like the real thing!"
I was lost for words.

I didnt think yall got all that much snow anyway.

Not any more when i was a kid there where a lot of snow one year there was a 8 feet of snow in one day and the and there where snow all winter but now we are lucky if we get 1 to 2 days of snow, and that sucks because there is winter for 7 months. It is getting to hot here for my taste, Need to move to the Northpole and have snow 24/7/365 days:)

That storm was pretty intense, heres a pic of my parking lot, feel bad for everybody drivin cars, we were out in the lifted F150 for hours on end, only had to put it in four wheel drive three times haha. 30" of snow and 6-7 foot drifts in some places, then on top of it, my driver's side wiper arm splines stripped out, so i drove 22 miles home that night with my head our the window in whiteout conditions haha. it was cold.
