How fast does average dead axle go kart go?

How long is a piece of string?

There's a lot of variables which determine the top speed of a kart; without knowing any of them, all we can do is give you an average; provide us with more info & let's see what we can work out...

That's what I was asking was what the average kart does.

I know my kids will do 45 mph on the street and I added after market air filter and jet and changed sprocket, clutch and chain from 35 to 41. Sprocket is smaller than it was and clutch has less teeth. I was just wondering if this is above average?
i.e. Am I Tim the tool man tailoring it or shouldi t have been this fast anyway?

Meh. I built a kart to go 55. It's fast and fun, there's nothing wrong with speed as long as the driver is responsible and the kart isn't a hillbilly project. I'll probably end up buildignmambuggy that goes 90mph+ with a motorcycle engine. Average speed for a kart depends on engine type and budget,

Average?
6:1 is the average referred-to gear ratio.

so Around 20 to 25-30mph.
The Acceleration-Factor is a different story. Tire size and total weight. Of course the performance modifications made as well.

I'd say 30 mph is about average.
45 is faster than an average yard kart I'd say.

45 is achievable with a 212cc, a light kart 16" tires, 6:1, a TC, and no gov.
Might need stage 1 mods
