Ok so I finally got the frame stripped and painted and I was watching videos on installing the torque converter when I realized I don't think the one I got is going to work for my setup. The kart came with a 20 series driven converter symmetrical type. So I bought a 30 series kit from ebay and I just realized it's asymmetrical.

Here are some picture I took from when I first got it. Can someone let me know how can I make this work if possible. The kit that I bought is a TAV2.

You can stick with the series 30 ... but it'll requirte some more work.

you have basically two options:
a) move the engine mount over to the right in order to properly align it with the series 30 driven sheaves (as you'll have noticed you have to put in on your jackshaft "backwards" so the sheaves are a bit further to the right as they are now)

or
b) cut the jackshaft housing slightly to make room for the series 30 driven cam, so that the sheaves are then where they are now.

You could also keep the series 30 TAV for another project,
repair the series 20 driven (clean renew what needs to be renewed...)
and buy a series 20 driver unit (say from mfgsupply.com)
or if you're lucky.. a used one;)

you will very likely need to buy a belt anyways (since I doubt the driven and driver are in the exact smae distance on your kart as they would be on the TAV.

Personally:
before cutting and welding.. I'd go for the third and most awkward option first
to at least give it a try.

i.e.: mount the tavkit to the engine as usual (with backplate and such) run a chain to the jackshaft you have (replace the series 20 driven with a matching sprocket of course)
and be done with it.
it's not exactly the best way, but the quickest and least destructive (no cutting rewelding involved)

Thanks for the reply. I'm gonna go with the third option first. Since I just painted the kart I really don't want to start cutting and welding. Then I would have to load it and take to my shop for all of that. So hopefully this works if not I'll go from there. I have another kart with no motor or converter on it. So if worst comes to worst I'll use this one in that kart.

By the way it I had to go google what sheaves meant. Then I saw you are from Germany all I kept getting was pictures of pulleys so I put 2 and 2 together lol.

Thanks

hmm.. well
except that every one of your "pulleys" have two sheaves.. one fixed one moveable ;)
as opposed to a pulley with two fixed sheaves...

terminology.. don't quote me on that.. your language, not mine ;)

Well after some trial and error and a different jackshaft setup.I used the same jackshaft and made a stand for the motor. I cut out a small section of the stand So the motor would sit flat because of the tav2 plate.
