I’m 13 and I just welded for my first time last week at my school. I had to stop a few times because the feed wasn’t correct and it triped the breaker. Any tips? IMG_1014.jpeg

Penetration looks good, can you see what you are doing through the helmet? It's very important to be able to clearly see what you are welding.

Yes I could kind of see. The teacher was trying to help so his arm was in the way. we found out the next day that the helmet was on grind mode not welding so it wasn’t as dark as it should have

it Was actually one of my friends who found out the next day, I had to use the grinder for something and another student said shouldn’t he have the mask on so I went to grab it but my friend said wait put it in grind mode you can see better and I said how? so he went to show me and it was already in grind mode. 😬

now I got super powers from looking at the light. I can secretly shoot lasers out of my eyes and cut through 3in metal but don’t tell anyone please

I've only been welding for 2yrs, and I can actually stack em, its just the time and practicing, welding was a required project in my metals class, stick, and Mig, I'm the best, I was teaching everyone how to get them, I don't know how, but they weren't bad for their experience, I'm even better than the teacher per his words!
Ill try and get a pic tmr tho

Moved into woodshop now, almost out - Friday, If you think getting burned from welding hurts, how about getting your fingers sucked in between the tool rest and rough wood on the lathe?! Left a deep notch, purple bruising, and numb fingers but alright...

It was weird, it hurt so bad worse than any other burn I’ve experienced then I couldn’t feel anything after about 40 seconds. Since the pain went away so fast, I would rather have that then getting burned on the stove or exhaust or something because that hurts for a while.

I know most don't like them, but I love my auto darken hood. It uses the arc flare for solar power to darken. The, darkness, sensitivity, and delay can all be adjusted, I prefer to keep set to around 10, mid sensitivity, no delay.
