I need to know what chain and clutch to get

Hi, I have a motor on my go kart with a drive shaft of 3/4 inch. the sprocket mounted on the go kart has 56 teeth. How many teeth do I need for my clutch? and what kind of chain do I need?

What chain you need depends on what kind of sprocket you have. You need to measure the distance between the teeth, tip to tip. That will be its pitch. You also need to know the sprocket's width so the chain will fit.

The number of clutch teeth you desire depends on your desired final drive gear ratio. Make sure the clutch pitch matches your sprocket pitch also.

If you look at chart provided by Hellion, 1/2" pitch translates to #41 chain.
So, #41 chain and clutch is what you will need.
What is diameter of tires? This is important!!!

Yeah, a Tire height less than 14, and a 10 tooth #41 clutch will do it. Here is a link to Ebay:

I have bought 4 clutches from this Guy. He and the clutches are Reputable.
Personally I call him 303-833-0491, ask for Mike. It saves him paying Ebay 8% of the sale.
and he honors the price and the free shipping. Also that is a great price. A cheap clutch is usually 20bucks.

We don't just recommend websites to purchase from and be done with it. There might be a hardware or Mom and Pop store nearby that has what you need. Even a forum member in Kentucky could steer you where to go or give you some freebies just for being a like-minded DIY'er.
