I’m not sure what I want my next build to be. I have a 1995 Honda 300ex with no spark, bought it for $150 spent about $200 and it still don’t have spark. I’m back in school so I could possibly take it in and get it running. the plastics are super rough and running it’s only with about 1300. I was thinking maybe pull the motor and make a make a custom frame and add another power wheels cover like the grindhardplumbing YouTube channel did. I’m sure it would be worth way more. But I also don’t have much money to spend right now and I’m going to be buying a car/truck soon (I turn 16 in January). I was also looking into those kids razor dirt bikes that do like 7mph. They make a kit on Amazon with all upgraded electrical stuff and they do like 45 mph. I was thinking that it should be street legal and I could ride it to work but then I got to thinking I could use it to make money in the winter too with snow. 2 wheels would suck in the snow so I would maybe make something like a trike so 2 wheels in the back and 1 up front and make a trailer to haul a snow blower.

Im only 15 and don’t know much about electric builds and I get some crazy ideas sometimes. I still have to go over this idea with my parents and teacher but do you think it would work? I think my second idea with the electric build would be a better idea at this time.

Having done this recently to a YZ-80, ITS NOT WORTH IT. I guarantee its easier to work within the existing framework and repair the gas system. In the US, no dirtbike/ATV is street legal stock. A 300ex does not have turn signals, plate mount and light, etc. I'm supportive of you getting a FULL KIT of the ENTIRE ELECTRIC SYSTEM in one place. but be prepared to fab motor mounts, battery mounts, etc. Tackle that first before you mess with rotating parts. To be fair, I kludged my system together from golf kart and MX550 parts.

I’m saying I would either do the 300ex build OR an electric bike like an actual biycle with the electric conversion kit so it SHOULD be street legal. I think I would probably do the second idea, do you think it will work?
