I believe this is an original Go Kart circa 1960, can anyone make a positive ID one way or the other. I'd also like to determine it's value.

Love the tailpipe! The PO took that right off the shelf at Auto Zone. What a mess. :D

Anyway, this is a vintage kart no doubt. Twin engine at one time too... I will be looking at some vintage photos and original ads. Luckily those still exist.

Nice find. Did you pay a "vintage kart" premium for it?

to the forum too.

vintage cart

I've had it for 40 years, it was a cart we had as kid's and I fixed it up for my own kid. I'm looking to sell it now, I just want to find out what it's worth. I don't want to give it away and then see it advertised for a lot more money.

Nope, no twin engine.. looks like a one wheel peel to me.. BUT that original motor mount (right) held a two stroke... (likely clinton 3hp)
the one on the left (the engine now sits on) is Home made to hold a four stroke.

Since it doesn't appear to be a live axle kart (the tube is too small to house a live axle from what I can see) it's unlikely a race kart..

and yard kart pics of that era are rare...

Anyways, that front end looks familiar.. I'll be browsing some pics as well;

I think we can narrow it down at least ;)

I'm not sure why anyone would want a live axle. I've driven them and this one handles far better. It has a 5hp BandS now, will go about 35 mph and will not tip even when turning the wheel full at full speed. It will just spin, we used to have a riot doing that.

A live Axle will not tip either doing the same thing.
I personally am not sure why anyone would want a 1 Tire Fire.

Tomato Tomahto. lol

Sounds like a lot of memories tied up in the kart. A lot of sentimental value; be a shame to let it go after all this time. Is there no one in the family to hand this heirloom off to?

No, I've kept it going for years but have little interest anymore.

Hello Uncle Gray!
I am your long lost nephew Chancer. You know your brothers first wife's kid.
anyway I am really into Go Karts now and This beautiful red Family heirloom should stay in our Clan. Since you have little interest I will go ahead and take it off your hands and keep it in the family!

What about that fine Chevrolet product in the background? Has your interest also waned for that? Maybe speed just isn't your game anymore... I could take that off your hands; free up your garage for some woodworking.

'Drive it all the time'. Sure. Well, keep me in mind. I like things that are old and fast and I don't discriminate much.

I would not want to win the lottery either.
I am too lazy, I would just pay people to do everything for me!
That would get boring.
