I finally fulfilled a young teenagers dream (Mine!) and bought me a Manco Dingo. I have always wanted one and decided to go for it.

It seems in good shape but could use some minor work (at least I hope only minor). It will need front tires soon, new padding, and the carb most likely needs to be cleaned (it runs but does not idle).

It currently only has the 5hp Tecumseh, but I can see a 6.5 clone down the road with some mods.

BTW I'm loving this site and all the info I'm am gathering from it. This site is part of the reason I finally bought a kart. Looking forward to asking A LOT of newbie questions and getting great answers from you guys.

I hope to have some pics tomorrow.

Thanks,
Marc

Here are the pics as promised. (I hope I'm doing this correctly. lol)

I was going to take some pics of how it looked as I picked it up, but the camera battery was dead. So these pics are after picking it up, taking it to the car wash and coming home to use another camera.
It was pretty dirty and looked as if it had not been ridden in a couple of years, The good thing, is it was kept inside a shed.

Any way let me know what you think.

Thanks Guys.

I was hoping to find a Dingo with a 8hp motor (or maybe bigger) but this seemed like a good deal for the price. The kid I got it from got his girlfriend pregnant and they now have a almost 4 month old and he was in need of some money. He said he was the original owner and got it in 2002 or 2003. This seems about right given the full roll cage and the fact it has a disc brake.

I know there is supposed to be a sticker right under the front of the seat with for manufacture info, but I can not find it. In the pic above, there is a white sticker closest to the seat. Is this supposed to be it? If so, there is nothing on it. It is bleached out and does not seem to be stamped. Could the sticker I need be somewhere else?

Is there any other way to verify the exact model and age?

Also, after playing around with this today, I may need to remove the roll cage from above the seat and sterring wheel. I'm 6' tall and it's a challenge climbing in and out (or I just need more practice to get used to it. lol). Looks like this can be done pretty easy.

yeah from the pictures it looks like that part of the cage is just bolt on.

That kart looks nice! I think Dingos have really awesome styling.

Yep, it's just 6 bolts to take the front cage and the 2 bars on the back off. That sticker in front of the seat is where the info is supposed to be. Unless there are similar designs, that's a 285 series.

You're taller than me, and I had trouble getting in with the roll cage on (course I am older, ugh).

After getting it running good and 2 new front tires. We finally got to ride the dingo Labor Day weekend.

Have video of my wife driving it at the lake, but cannot download?
I've started calling her "The Dingo Devil". :devil2:
I think I may have lost MY kart? I maybe in search of another one VERY soon.

Do videos only work coming from a place like youtube?
If so, I guess I may have to setup an account.

You need to post the video on Youtube then embed it on this site. Videos are too big to post here.

You may need to find another Dingo for yourself if your wife likes it too much!

Photobucket & Facebook work too. Similar sites should have similar functions. If you already have an account with a site, check out whether you can upload video
