Hello everybody. I bought an old Carter to cart for my grand kids to use out on the property. I need clutch, chain, and brake band parts. I have found the parts listing and exploded view on-line....but can't find anyone who may have the parts. Any suggestions as a parts supplier?
Thanks to you all for your help.
Tim

I'm new and need some help.

Thank you Sir. I appreciate the help. My grand kids will love this thing when I'm done with it. I have 9 grand kids, and I'm sure one of them will wreck it !!!!
I have been looking through this site since I joined this site...and I am amazed at what-all the members are doing...the carts they create...and the advice you folks share with each other.
Thank you again for all of the help.
Sincerely,
Tim

Welcome to the forum. You won't find better help anywhere else

I agree!! Great bunch of guys.

I read a lot before posting, so I didn't sound like a complete idiot... although, I still find ways to look like a partial idiot :D

Welcome to the forum, enjoy your stay! :)

EDIT: Not you Paul, Tharmon. I worded that oddly. The partial idiot coming out of me :p :D

Thank you for the response. I build and restore muscle cars as a hobby, so I'm not a mechanical idiot....I just needed some fatherly advice on getting parts for my new project.
When I started digging into this site, I was impressed with the creativity these guys have...their willingness to help...and their quick responses. Some of these guys could build a 747 out of a junk lawn mower !!!!! I hope I can help somebody to the degree you folks have helped me.
You people are awesome.

Welcome to DIYGK! You WONT find a better place for helpful advice, tips -n- tricks, and some good fun. We wont steer you wrong and we always keep safety as a KEY ingredient when giving advice on a build or parts. (Its only fun till someone gets hurt) We have a list of parts dealers on the main forum page down at the bottom. BMI karts, discount go karts of texas, mfg supply a just a few, there are plenty more. You can find GREAT deals on eBay usually with free shipping.
Good luck with having JUST ONE KART! You're gonna need about 3 1-seaters and 2 more 2-seaters. Oh, and OF COURSE one for you..... hmmm,..... grandpa is gonna be busy. You're gonna have to make a track now too since you got 7 karts tootin around..... lol

Funny you say that....the grandkids have already scoped out an area of the property that they want to be their race track. And yeah.....I'm sure one cart is not going to do the trick for 9 grandkids !!!!
Oh well.....it should keep em busy and out from under their parents feet...right ????
I will post a picture of it and the two cars I just finished...a 67 Mustang and a 68 Camaro.
They turned out pretty sweet.
Take care guys...and thanks again for everything.

I'vs been working with cars for 25 years & I asked questions when I first started so, it happens to the best of us :lolgoku:

it should keep em busy and out from under their parents feet...right ????

Hmm, I dunno about that, I can see many situations that go a little like:
"Jimmy's hogging the kart & won't let anyone else have a go"
"I'm next"
"No, I'm next"
"No, you two are after me"

:lolgoku:

Welcome to the forum & the world of karting with kids :D

Sounds like you've been where I'm headed Fabroman. Yeah...I can hear the arguments already. I'm definitely going to have to ask Grandma for permission to buy a second project !!!!!!
