ok, i've seen wheel chairs with tracks and i've seen mini tanks. but what about a wheel chair with tracks and that turns like a tank but is driven by hydraulics. this is what i'm thinking:
25 hp kohler v-twin (i only chose this cuz i have one)
this would power a hydraulic pump
then you buy two double spool valves
two reversing motors
then a small set of tracks (like 40 inches long or somethin)
you wouldn't need much more than a gallon for reserve for the hydraulic system.
but yea thats my idea. unfortunatly my knowledge with hydraulic systems is only what i've read and heard. but my grandpa knows the stuff and thinks it'll work. but give me some ideas. i have no clue where i would get the tracks. i kno where i could get the hydraulic system though.
by the way this is for a neighbor who has had polio since he was a year old and he's 57 now, but he says he isn't done havin fun yet. so thats it

The wheel chair would have to be strengthened to handle the kohler. If you wanted a challenge you could use a wheel chair but you might have better luck fabbing up some form of chair your self, as you would know what it can handle. as for your idea, it can certainly be done.

well i wouldn't use a stock wheelchair, i'm building up an electric one and they actually have pretty strong frames but not srong enough for that, i would definatly need to beef it up.
