Hybrid Kart/Off Road

Hi guys and gals

Starting my first karting project off and and have been doing some reading about what's entailed in starting such a project.

What i am looking to design...

A hybrid kart/off roader, something which could be used on track and taken for a little off road fun when theres no tarmac around...
In terms of off road i dont mean sand dunes and such...just big fields and small hills and such...

In other words a multi-purpose kart.

So decisions i have made so far....

Engine: Yamaha GSXR 600cc (because it was free)
Chassis: Box section (because its easier to weld)
No of Seats: Single (i have spare buckets)
Adjustable suspension turrets
Other: Must have a roll loop for safety

So where I need help from you experts to start of with is:

1. Any one know of someone who sells some good plans for what I intend to do?

2. If you dont how difficult would it be to design and create a chassis from scratch that would be stable under cornering and not roll at the first time throwing it into a corner.

3. Good Books or sources of info (Im a little old skool so books would be preferred although www is ok)

a simple frame with that engine could be a death trap

to be fair we were really looking to do a formula car...a or a big kart

You could probably do a yard-style kart. They are pretty good on-road, and are good on light off road. The choice really depends on you style preference.

Edit: You may need to beef up the frame a little also.

I would say that you eally need a good strong frame for an engine that size. I would also put suspension on it.

What are your fabrication skills?

do u have a suzuki gsxr or a yamaha R6

a yamahe gsxr dosent exist
and depending on year the diferance is crutchs or wooden box

it wouldnt be hard to make a veneral porpose kart from the ground up

if u are using more off road then id say tune down a piranha
if more on road then a jacked up fomular SAE caar

search fomular sae cars

this is what u would base the frame on but make the mateiral thicker and the frame bigger
oh and add a roll cage
