Well, we're looking at 20 inches of rain tomorrow in Austin. My mother in law is in Corpus Christi, where it will hit (may she stay safe, har har har)

But seriously, I think she'll be good but it's nerve racking! She is blocks from the water, so it probably will get a little hairy for a while.

We don't get this kind of action often in Texas. It's been 10 years since the last one and they usually go more toward Louisiana not us.

Enjoy the rain / stay safe out there! I've cleared the side yard in hopes that it doesn't flood.

I'm southeast of San Antonio, and we are more in the danger zone. If we do get 15-20 inches as predicted it will be devastating. Already been thru two "100 year" floods in 98' & 02', and we didn't even get as much rain as they are predicting for Harvey.

Went to Wal-Mart yesterday and it was a madhouse! Luckily they still had water, but it was the last pallet. People were also hitting up the beer and meat to BBQ like crazy...as I did too

My brother in law lives in corpus also. He's staying, we hope he makes it through it alright.

Well that was interesting.

Saturday - rained like heck, 6 hours no power, back on shortly from 7-11pm, then 11pm Saturday through Monday at 1pm it was out again!

But no flooding. A nice, easy rain, No big deal it was like camping at home. We have a gas stove and plenty of camping gear, so we were comfortable. And thankfully the weather stayed cool, that would have been miserable otherwise.

Some pretty big trees down in the area, but for the amount of wind it was good I guess.

Thoughts with my friends in Houston, though. That place is flat and full of bayous that are backed up. Ugh. Probably going to get worse.

Thanks! I can see blue skies again, and that sky-high water bill that came yesterday will be a lot lower next month! lol

Thanks for asking Robert. We really dodged a bullet down here. Didn't get nearly as much rain as predicted, so no flooding. The eye of Harvey made it to about 30 miles east of us. The wind was the main problem around here, knocked out power and trees for some folks. Amazingly, I didn't lose power at all.

Did some cleaning up on Saturday, and the wind was so strong it made it difficult to walk, and the rain stung as it hit your skin.

Too bad my favorite coast vacation spot Rockport got totaled. And Houston, well we've all seen the tragic situation over there. Hopefully these "super storms" don't become the norm.

All okay in corpus, family in Beamount haven't been able to contact. Hopefully their okay. I had no idea it would end up there, don't think they did either. I may head that way this weekend. Thank you for asking.
