I am juniortore1. No, my real name is sal, but I use juniortore1 for every account I have. I am a man of all traits really. But that means I may suck at some more than I do others. Im really good at mechanics and electronics, along with everything else really but those are kinda what everything I do revolves around. Then again, every movement you make is mechanical right? So that kinda covers it all.

I have a lot of knowledge stored in my head really and can be of use to many people, and are willing to learn endless more. I am also a member of OMB. OMB has been a bit of use to me but seems a little shady if you ask me. Any logical non blow off reply I provide to a question, I get well blowed off. And when I ask a question, 80% of the time I get some stupid reply.
Example: MyQ: my engine is making too much power for a TAV now, and my TAV just broke. Do yo have any advice for a more powerful TQ?
A: get genuine TAV instead/ Change the springs in your pri/sec.

Anyway, I really have nothing against OMB but sometimes what I witness is just... amazingly helpful

How I got here? Well, I was reading on torque convertors since I really did destroy mine. I made it here eventually, and was poking around for some time. Just a matter of minutes ago I made it to the flywheel Armageddon thread. Thats when all the bells and ringers in my head went off... I need to become a member here.

Anyway, thats my story. Thanks for reading.

EDIT: Just for kicks and giggles if you want, heres a thread on OMB started by me. Like I said, I did get kinda almost something out of it. http://www.oldminibikes.com/forum/en...r-madness.html

:welcome2: to the forum. I have heard some criticism of OMB, but I have never been a member here.

Off the top of my head, your TC might not be rated for that much horsepower. What TC are you running and what engine is it being used on?

Yes. That is what I want to post here after I take a break from sitting all day in school. I know, That is exactly my point, the TAV2 is quite under the power I need.

Had it going 55MPH/wheelieing and intended to keep aiming for more until this stall.

Mini Baja: MB165.
Genuine Honda GX200:
-Removed governor
-14cc ported/polished head
-18lb valve springs
-.265 lift 236in/236ex camshaft
-GX390 carburetor (till I make another adapter for a 22 mikuni I already have)
-+8 ignition timing (no FW key. all gauged in with a 360 wheel since all keys/wheels/cranks vary)
-Obviously a header
-Other crap I probably forgot

I was going to finally get a rod/flywheel so I can be comfortable revving more than 5k nonstop but now I need that money for a new, more realistic TQ. Im thinking comet 500 series.

Here is a lame video that does not do any justice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbGk2AMqHaM

I already like this place! Thanks!

since you already read the governor thread, I'm sure you figured out that it is better the get upgraded internals gefore 18lb valve springs.

How much hp do you think you are pumping out of it with all the upgrades?

I am indeed a troll at times but not by any means a spam troll. Like if theres a thread that turns into one of them "provide a BS answer" Ill jump on the bandwagon and all but thats about it.

Yes, I know you are supposed to upgrade your internals before the springs. But take my word for it, I am a responsible rider. I have a tach and before my TQ broke the max I could pull WOT going 55mph was about 4800/5000 downhill. I figured I would then get the rod and flywheel before I even invest in creating more RPM. As for horse power, I really have no idea. All I know is that stock 6.5 at 3600 went about 33MPH with my torque convertor (before engine mods which lead to higher RPM engagement). Id say at least 9hp.

Also, I have (had) a 10T on the jackshaft, 60T rear, and I think its a 19" rear tire. Probably more like 18 now since its only got about 1/4" tread left. 420 chain.

That's an impressive list of mods there. I'd be wary about the 18lb springs though; that's usually the last thing to do after the billet rod & flywheel.

All up, it makes for a pretty quick little bike, well done

Thanks! Yea, Considering the engine size and that is generally a large, heavy, wind resistance creating bike, 55mph is not bad at all. Its not like a typical *mini*bike that weighs like 15lbs. That was 55mph was on gravel/dirt roads. Could probably get an extra 5mph alone just by going on paved roads. Plus the difference between knobby tires over drag tires is also quite some resistance.

I was originally in michigan with four acres where I needed them tires to abuse them acres. But now in tennessee we dont have enough land to utilize them, and I probably will get drag tires after they wear down to the concern level. And a bonus is the roads are all paved. But being near the smokies there are quite some hills which would loose any gains I would have over the dirt roads.

I did the 18lb springs before I even got a camshaft and I swear it added an extra hp or two. Probably because it makes the valves seal better/ quicker giving more compression. Also consider I switched to the 14cc head before the springs and cam. But like you guys and I all know. With them springs you have the ability to rev a lot higher than you should on stock internals.

The only thing on my list right now is a torque convertor to get it back into business. Back to the engine list tho. I intend for a billet rod, flat top piston, billet flywheel, moly rods (how necessary are they really?), higher ratio rockers given they dont bind with the studs considering the cam, SS valves/ retainers (wouldnt want to drop a valve after all that). And finally, one day I will make a new adapter so I can put my mikuni 22 to use. You can only attempt to adjust a nonadjustable carb so much. And I bet a real carb alone would do quite a thing too.

However, I should save for a car at this point in time. So lets get our priorities straight. TQ first, and then the carb I have ready to go when I make an adapter.

Are there any threads on the Comet 500 series? I think thats what I am aiming for.
