hubs

ok got some questions about hubs on rear axle. i have a one inch rear live axle that drops down to seven eighths, and its only two and half inch's long. so if your still following me do i need a one inch hub or a hub that drops down to seven eighths witch i have not seen any where on the web. just need some insight please help

is your keyway on the 1" or 7/8,part?

not knowing the type of kart you have. some will mount to the frame via bearings on the 7/8 part and have wheels inboard to the frame.

others mount the hub on the 7/8 and use the 1" step as the hub stop

7/8 seems like an odd size. could it possibly be a 1" axle machined to fit some 3/4 lawn mower wheels? or in your case some 7/8 wheels or hubs from some other type of machine.

im not sure about the keyway yet, ill have to check tomorrow.

and the axle is mounted to the frame on the 1" part and i looked for a hub thats 1" to 7/8 step down but cant find any.

will reply tomorrow, plz help out if any one has ran across this before and what did you do?

Mine do a step down. I just put my 1" hub to the edge of the 1" section, and have that threaded part sticking out. Waste of a couple inches of Axle, but oh well.
