Long time lurker first time poster. Looking for a hub for my one wheel peel gocart. 4 bolt pattern inside and out with a 2 1/2 ish inch width. We run on a clay backyard hillbilly track and the galvanized hubs we run just cant hold up, seam welds tear and flanges bend. Id rather not change the whole setup and ive combed all the main parts sites for heavier duty hubs and i cant find any. If anyone has a place for heavy duty hubs or ideas to strengthen or reinforce them id appreciate it. We may just cut 4 pieces of flatstock and weld them in to stabalize but thats sorta gaff in my opinion and glavanized doesnt take welds well (already welded the main seam welds a few times)

Yea my buddy is a welder he does it. They just use crappy galvanized metal and it just doesnt hold up. Even where the bolt flanges just end up bending if you catch a rut or rock the wrong way and even during normal bumpin n rubbin. Its a pain to take te whole thing off rebend it etc

The fact that it's galvanized really has nothing to do with overall strength. It's the gauge (thickness) and quality of the steel under the zinc that matters.

That said, you may have to fab something up, or contract a machinist/fabricator to do it for you. I'm not aware of a more heavy duty option for you. I think once most people reach that point, it's a live axle conversion.

Yea i was trying to stay away from the machinist option :/ this is my cheapest and most fun hobby and id like to keep it that way haha. I think i may have to send an email to the gallettas in ny. They run single wheel right handers and theyre carts hold up. We have a live axle and it runs like doodoo on our little 1/12~ mile hillbilly track cant touch the one wheel wonders and just isnt as fun
