Ok first, hi guys thanx for having me. What Im trying to do since I made this thing not function is to figure out how to route the spring properly.. It worked before I moved the spring around...

Welcome aboard Kaveman.

That was a silly thing to do; was it working properly before you dismantled it? It looks like it could do with a bit of cleaning...

Hindsight is 2020 but, it's always a good idea to snap some pics before taking something apart.

Unfortunately, as I've never seen one like that before, I can't offer any more help; wait around & someone should chime in before too long...

Welcome,fellow Houstonian..... hey ,that looks like an old v-belt cent. clutch like my grandpa had on an old 3-wheeler thing hebought to fix up, loonnnnggg time ago. Is your scooter chain drive? Can we get some pics? Did you take that bell part off and thats where the spring was?

That's a cool little ride :thumbsup:

:iagree: Can we get some more pics? It'll help us determine whether it's a cent clutch of one half of a CVT

That's a V-Plex clutch (one half of a cvt, namely the driver)

And from the pictures I'd say you might have the weights the wrong way around (If they're not symmetrical);
diassamble the thing, and you will notice two things:
1) the two halves of the weight are conical on one side, that side goes away from the Bell, towards the moveable sheave

2) the two pins have a recess in the bell to be unable to turn inside.

And, if you made sure that the two parts do not lock on the two slide rails (the pins moving freely) nor are sticking together it should be in working condition as soon as your fixed sheave (the one you had to force off of your driver) is back to it's original position;
that is, flush with the post it slides back on to.

'sid

PS while you're at it, a little bit of dry lube on the conical part of the weights is the only oil it needs, DO NOT lube the inside of the bell.
