Hi, Newbie here, I have been lurking around for a little while reading up on all sorts of stuff that you all have provided. I have an idea for a project that I have been thinking about for my grandson which will lead into more projects in the karting arena. But first I am wanting to start him out slow (he is only 2 1/2 years old) so I am looking to build him a small electric dump truck (I need help in the yard, hehehe.) So I am also open for ideas in this area for sure. We live in central FL so i can put him to work year round. When he outgrows that maybe work on some Karts, mini bike, etc. what ever he wants. So thats about it for me.

Welcome to DIYGK! A mini electric dump truck? You DO realize that that is only gonna lead to a need for a loader as well! LoL! Start a thread in the electric section and you should get all the help you need. There are a few fellars that are pretty knowledgeable, Itsid to name one, but there are definitely more....
Thats gonna be a cool build. I will waiting for progress reports and pics, as will others. (Im sure u know that by now, we love pics)

Once again, thank you all for the warm welcome. Even though I have a lot going on with life in general (who doesn't) I hope to get started pretty soon. Since I couldn't really find any plans or anything for what I'm looking to do there will certainly be a lot of trial and error with this one.

WOW, that is so cool. To bad he never posted plans, i'm not great at design, but if I have a plan I'm good. It does have me thinking though. Maybe scrap the dumptruck idea and go with a Jeep/Truck and a dump trailer.

It will be hard to get plans for anything home made. You are going to have to copy just by looking at a pic
