do you have access to a lathe? :D

You could probably use a weedwacker engine, but it would probably be too heavy for the power, and it would make the car quite big.

The nitro engines that are used on nitro cars rev up to something like 50,000 rpm! if you could find one of these cheap it would be ideal.

Unless you want something quite unstable and bulky I wouldnt use the 5hp. With that and a small wheel base you will have a high centre of gravity and it would be less stable.

As far as the electrics go, you could probably use the electric motor wires from the hummer to power something that controls the throttle. Then leave all the steering electrics etc. the same.

Yeah thats what my plan was to use all the electrics. I may leave this project for another time but id still like to know how to do it. RATS! i had a 21cc weedeater that started first pull and had a clutch, i took it apart and was going to put it on a bike but that never happened... after a few months behind the shed it got seized up so i threw it out. That woulda been perfect...

I may end up buying a weedeater just for this purpose. I can probably get a good one with a clutch for like 10 bucks.

Im planning on getting a welder later on so i may just make a barstool racer with the 5 horse. I already have like everthing i need minus the welder..... hmmm.....

(back to rc) How would i be able to have the brake? also would i be able to have electric powered reverse, and gas for going front?
